It's a Girl...but we knew that.

Abelina Diana - August 19, 2005 5:48a.m. at 7lbs. 7oz. 21".

My best friend, Katricia had her baby during my last visit to California. I was very excited to be able to hold her and spend sometime with her before leaving. Of course she is very cute. It's too bad that I had to leave so early after her arrival, but I am very happy to have been able to see her.

The rest of the trip was spent at Bass Lake, near Yosemite. It was mostly the usual lounge on the dock, wakeboard, and relax. The first night there it rained, followed by thunder and lightning. Which in over 20 years of going up there it's never done. It continued to rain all day Monday, where I attempted to teach Mike cribbage. He just thought I was making up the rules as I went along. Tues-Friday we did the usual sunning and relaxing. Wakeboarding was okay, the boat drivers just learned to drive and my patience ran thin. And one day the board was messed up. Thursday we went to Yosemite. First stop was Glacier Point then we hiked Sentinel Dome to watch the sunset. It was COLD! If you didn't check Mike's blog yesterday there's a pic of me keeping warm.

We came back Friday after lunch to see Trish and the baby. Saturday while they rested and got home safely, my mom was nice enough to give Mike and I a ride to Manhattan Beach to watch the AVP women's finals. Did you see us on TV? I spent as much time with Trish and Abelina as I could. I will miss them both until I get to see them again.

Trisha's no longer... :-)

Vacation Again...

I've been here in NY for two weeks and I'm ready for my last vacation of the summer. This week has been...Interesting. The highlight was at freelance I got to play with the printer! I designed these banner stands and have pretty much been seeing them to the end. I re-sized them and test printed them, went back to photoshop made some color adjustments and re-tested. I ended up standing there and watching it print vs. RIPing the next file. What can I say, it's fascinating how it prints So much blue before it lays down the magenta and then yellow. There are 8 cartridges of ink, laid out where the 1 and 5 are inline = black and a lighter black. Then 2 and 6 the blues (cyan) 3 and 7 magenta and lastly yellows 4 and 8. When it prints you see those colors in order laying down...blue picture, purple picture, and then the actual picture. (purple, red+blue=purple, actual pic black+blue+red+yellow=picture) This picture didn't print any solid black, the black in the pic was printed with the 3 colors.

I spent more money on my car yesterday as well. It's been making muffler noises, that just being replaced I looked at the pipes. Sure enough I could tell right where it was going to break, but was hoping to get through August. It decided to break Wednesday so I had to take it in. I strongly dislike my car.

I've decided since Mike is in my pictures and I'm in his, to post his pics from our last trip. Here are his Hermoa Beach pics. You'll see the pic of Walsh as the first one.And here are his Vegas pics. If you didn't catch mine, scroll down to my post about Rants on Trip. For more of Mike's pictures refer to Mike's Photoblog under links.

And I'll end with this pic since, this is what the subject will be doing for the next week, and being a foot shorter this is probably all I will see of him.
Busy all week with activities such as ... jumping wakes

It's beginning to look a lot like...

What's to become of this season...
- Ricky's back???
- Owen's, a day to day kind of a guy?
- Patriots going for #4 in 5yrs?
- 49's to beat winning record of 2?
- Manning, still a fantasy gold mine?
- Henry becomes a Titan?
- Brees, ready to go all the way?
- Shaun Alexander to get 20 TD's again?
- St Louis, #1 turnover team?

- What Were the Cowboys Thinking?!?!?!?!?

Rants on Trip

This is a favorite from my California trip. I took this in Vegas, at the Mandalay Bay hotel where they have a shark exhibit. Since they are in a glass type tank and it's dark I was surprised it actually came out decent. I brought out a little more color since it was so dark. It's weird that the shark appears to be blue, considering it's a gray reef shark. I was a bit disappointed in the exhibit, because they weren't very many of them. And at Sea World you can actually touch them. Personally, I can't wait to feed / swim with them. I think you can feed them off of Florida, the Blacktip Reef Shark. My favorite shark, Shortfin Mako is a bit risky to be in the water with, but I'd love to see one out on the open water! Especially when it jumps out of the water!

Here is a link to the rest of my better pictures from Vegas.
They changed their site around a bit so you can't get any real good thumbnails. But if you go into the slideshow and click album at the top there's some small ones.

When we got to Los Angeles, Katricia took us to good old Baja Buds. Yum!! That stuff is so great! The next day we took a freakin' 2 1/2 hr bus ride to Hermosa beach, if we had a car it would of been 20 minutes. We got there later than wanted, but arrive just as "Volleyball legend and three-time Gold Medalist, Karch Kiraly" started to play. Following that match was 2004 Summer Gold medalist Misty May and Kerri Walsh.
After they crushed the opponent they signed autographs and took a few pictures. We weren't able to get into May's line but I hauled butt to Kerri's and nicely asked if I could get in line after they closed it. Both Mike and I got autographs and a picture with the 3 of us. That night is when we drove a detouring route to Las Vegas.

While there we did the usual, walk around and see as much as you can. We stayed at my friends house which was AMAZING! Some of the Vegas pics are taken from his house. It was even nicer than the hotels there! As a summary of the house he has, a self cleaning pool and spa with color changing lights, spiral staircase from the master bedroom patio to the pool, BBQ pit, misters out back so your not too hot, view of the strip (with or without telescope), the list just goes on. Two of my Vegas pics I took through the telescope. The one of the pyramid that's up close and blurry lol and the lighted Tower looking one that is blurry. I had to post just cause they were taken through the scope. All in all we had a good time in Vegas, and my wonderful mom made it all possible by helping us get there and to the strip and back. :-) Thanks Mom!

The next two days we were in Los Angeles, where we boogie boarded both days. And might be an extra in the new (probably bad show) Head Cases on Fox. They were filming on the board walk so we jumped in the background.

The rest of the trip we were in San Diego. We boogie boarded some more. Went to Coronado beach where my Aunt Martha and cousins meet us. That night after Mike took some exposure sunset shots, we spent the night at my aunt's. I was awaken when my little cuz decided to shoot something at my head. That day was a mission to Del Mar beach and the rehearsal diner in the evening.

After the rehearsal I decided to follow Kyle (the groom) to the diner. Half way to Tijuana I figured out he was lost. Saturday was the wedding, where it was just busy. Had to get hair done early, get dressed, take pics, off to walk down the isle, and off to the reception. It was a great ceremony, very nice and lots of good times. Oh, and I did not trip walking down the isle. Instead I almost fell in the toilet before!!! Scary stuff! I'll leave it at it's a hard dress to maneuver in along with the shoes. Creating a tight situation where feet can slip. A fellow bridesmaid came to my rescue.

I will sum this up now..Sorry it's long on parts and short on others, but it's too looooong. Here are my Hermosa / San Diego pictures.

And I my last rant is...I strongly Dislike my car!!! I'm at a point where I'm spending 100-200 every 2 weeks / month to fix something on it. It is NOT a good car to drive in winter and I just can't do it again with that Thing I would have to get new tires for winter. I also have to get my back breaks fixed...all of it. It's not starting correctly and the mechanic can't get it to start wrong so until that finally Die Dies I can't get that fixed and who knows how much that is. And I just got a new muffler and now I probably need a new exhaust system or a great welding job. Just seems a more reliable car would be best. :-/ right? When you put more money into it than it's worth isn't it better? Then again I'd have to take out a loan and pay that off along with my other loan. So, any suggestions? I'm open. :-)

Back From Cali....

Well, I'm back from California ... for now. My trip consisted of Hermosa, AVP tournament where we got to see Misty May and Kerry Walsh, Gold medalist play. Along with Karch Kiraly Three-Time Olympic gold medalist. That night we hauled up to Las Vegas for a few days. Then back to LA for some good old Boogie Boarding at Venice Beach. Followed by a few days in San Diego were we went to Coronado Beach, and Del Mar where there was some more boogie boarding action. And of course the highlight of the trip the marriage of Kyle and Michelle! Who are now probably lounging on the beach in Hawaii.

I haven't gone through my photos yet to post. But I do have these that Mike took of me at the wedding. It's strange posting pictures of me, seems selfish or self centered but then again this blog is about me right...so that's what I look like, never would of guessed I clean up like that huh...I didn't. So, feel free to comment on my class, good looks, glamour and my hair...I was told it was the best.

I hope to get a link up of some good pictures soon. I will also elaborate on my trip and other highlights I suppose, since this is vague. Sleep hasn't been my strong point though in the past few days, therefore I might not only not make sense but I have seemed to miss placed my noggin in all this madness.

Last night we had this HUGE storm. For me it was big! Being from LA, I'm not use to lightening or thunder really. It's always frightened me in a sense. So, I experienced my first raining of golf balls last night. I thought I was going to loose my windshield. I find it weird that when the lightening wakes you up vs. the thunder. I decided to stay at Mike's for a nice sleep with the comfort of others around.
